As many of you will know, next year the Costume and Textiles Aotearoa New Zealand Annual Symposium is being held in Māwhera Greymouth in April.
The Symposium is always a highlight of the year. It brings together amateurs and professionals to share stories and experiences (and beautiful outfits) over a weekend of talks and presentations. Next year to coincide with CTANZ Symposium there is going to be an exhibition in the Left Bank Art Gallery that will start in March and end just after the weekend events, and it will be a show of work from the public.
The theme for the show is The Search for the Fabulous Idea, the title of the first exhibition by June Black and we are asking for pieces measuring 15cm x 15cm to be submitted. The form for submission and the full requirements list is being worked on and will be available from the Textile Trust’s website shortly, but here is the poster for the show.
It would be fantastic to have some work from subscribers and already there have been a few emails about submitting work. Get those thinking caps on and let’s have a show that will wow everyone who sees it!
