The Millennium has come and gone and a film on Youtube has proved to be prophetic.

In 1939 American designers were asked to predict what people would be wearing in 61 years time. The result was captured in a short film for British Pathé, an offshoot of the French film company. Amongst the predictions were dresses made of glass or of aluminium, with temperature controls and even a mobile ‘phone for the men.
