The British weaver, Theo Moorman MBE, developed a significant body of textile work through her dedication to a particular method of creating structures that did not distort as they were made.

A book, recently donated to the library, explains how Moorman viewed making art and gives practical advice on using the technique that bears her name to create dynamic and distinctive hangings, altar cloths and home furnishings. With black-and-white drawings and both colour and black-and-white photographs the method of weaving some of the pieces becomes clear, from concept to finished article. This is a fascinating book about a fascinating craftswoman whose work is recognised globally.
